Risk Engineer in Machine Safety
Do you want to work to prevent accidents and ensure that machines and production systems are safe to use? We are now looking for a Risk Engineer in Machine Safety to join our client's team!
Requirements for the Role
To thrive in this role, you need to have a burning interest in machine safety. Depending on your experience, tasks and projects can be adapted in complexity. You need to demonstrate and provide examples of your knowledge of risk management and industrial machines, either through work or education. As a person, you should enjoy working in a team and be curious to understand different clients' operations. You need to be communicative and take responsibility for your tasks.
Essential Requirements
- University degree in machine safety, such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics & automation, technical design, production technology, electrical engineering, or other relevant education.
- Knowledge of FMEA.
- Experience in industry.
- Driving license B.
- Fluent in Swedish & English, both spoken and written.
Desirable
- Work experience in risk assessment and risk management.
- Knowledge of the Machinery Directive.
About the Role
As a Risk Engineer in Machine Safety, you will work to create safe and sustainable machines and production environments for various clients together with your colleagues. You will have an advisory role and work both in structured projects and closely with clients, where you identify safety risks and improvement opportunities in their operations. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other disciplines and encompasses the entire project chain – from early stages in project planning and selection of machines to completed facilities and CE marking.
The role is technical, analytical, and practical, involving work with machine safety in industrial environments, primarily within process industry, manufacturing industry, and machine lines. Projects span the entire lifecycle of machines and production systems, focusing on preventing accidents, meeting legal requirements, and ensuring long-term safe solutions according to applicable regulations, such as the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the new Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Examples of Tasks:
- Conduct risk analyses of machines and production lines.
- Identify and assess risks and propose technical and organizational safety measures.
- Work with safety solutions such as protective functions, emergency stops, and other risk-reducing measures.
- Prepare and review technical documentation and Declaration of Conformity (CE marking).
- Advise clients on machine safety, legislation, and preventive safety work.
The role offers the opportunity to work with many different clients and industries, build specialist competence in machine safety, and gradually take on greater responsibility in assignments.
Conditions

Extent: Full-time, permanent.
Working hours: Office hours 8-17, flexible.
Location: Gothenburg.
